Rava ladoo aka sooji ladoo is made from rava(cream of wheat) and is one of the easiest and yummiest sweets you should try making this diwali. It can be made in a jiffy with minimal ingredients. The recipe I’m posting here is my mom’s. It is a no fail recipe that even beginners can try.
Required Ingredients:
- Rava/Sooji- 2 cups
- Powdered sugar- 1 3/4 cup
- Melted ghee- 1/2 cup
- Cashew nuts-10 to 15
- Cardamom powder- 2 tsp
Method:
Dry roast rava in pan for 2-3 mins on low-medium flame. Do not let it brown.
Let it cool and grind it into an almost fine powder.
Meanwhile, break cashews into pieces and fry in 2 tbsp of ghee until golden.
In a mixing bowl, add powdered rava, sugar, cardamom powder and mix well.
Add ghee fried cashews and mix well.
Heat 1/2 cup of ghee and pour it into the rava mixture and gently mix with a ladle.
Grease your palm and fingers with ghee and make ladoos out of the rava mixture.
Store it in an air tight container and serve as needed.
Notes:
- Make the ladoos immediately after pouring the hot ghee. The ladoos wont be firm and will crumble easily if you let the mixture cool.
- The shelf life of these ladoos is longer unlike its variants that use grated coconut and milk.
- If you aren’t able to make the ladoos, add more ghee and make them.
Looks tasty and fun!
