Love KFC chicken? Well, can anyone say no to mildly spiced ,succulent chicken with a crispy exterior? Guess that’s what makes the chicken from KFC stand out. Today, i propose a recipe that is almost similar to the most loved and relished Kentucky fried chicken. Oats does the trick here. Marinated chicken is coated in coarsely pulsed oats and deep-fried. Do try this recipe and let me know how it turned out for you.

Required Ingredients:
- Chicken- 150 gms
- Red chilli powder- 1/2 tbsp
- Salt- As required
- Lemon juice-1 tsp
- Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp
- Roasted gram dal powder- 1 1/2 tbsp
- Oats-3/4 cup
- Oil- As required
Method:
In a mixing bowl, add egg, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, salt and lemon juice and beat together.
Add the chicken pieces and marinate. Refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
Add oats to a mixie jar and pulse for few seconds. One pulse will be sufficient. Take care not to grind it finely.
In a plate, add roasted gram dal powder, pulsed oats and mix well.
Coat the marinated chicken in the oats mixture and deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.
Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
Notes:
- You can use a tablespoon of maida/all-purpose flour instead of roasted gram dal powder.
